What is a unit online degree audit? An online degree audit lists all student degree criteria in an interactive audit referred to as a graphically friendly production. With a few exceptions, the data presented is similar to the data viewed by academic advisors from your college and school.
The online degree audit is an excellent tool to help you stay on track for graduation and to plan for appointment advice. The online degree audit allows users to perform degree audits across all majors around the campus to help explore degree choices for unsure students.

The Process of GPA Calculation in Degree Audit
The courses you find in the respective major/minor block are made up of these GPAs and the failed courses that should have been added to the block had they been passed. If you have failed a major/minor course, however, and end up taking an alternative course to satisfy the requirement.
If the original failed course was required, if the course is not going to be needed to satisfy your major or minor requirements, you will be able to request that the failed course be excluded from your major/minor GPA.
It allows you to have a significant/minor GPA deficiency. Contact the Registrar’s Office for support in these cases.

The Role of Exception Processing in Degree Audit
To make an exception to some part of the degree audit, approved exception processors will theoretically have access. Registered users can, however, only make exceptions for the majors/minors who report to their department or college viewpoint. Reports will be available to track exception processing, as mentioned above.
The name of the user who has processed the exception will be shown with every exception entered. The general education or degree level blocks should not be modified by academic units since these apply to overall university requirements. Users outside their respective majors/minors who are marked as handling exceptions can have their exception access revoked.
If your department suspects an unauthorized party has processed your college/department exceptions, please contact the Registrar’s Office so that we can examine the situation for you.

Benefits of Unit Online Degree Audit System
- A more useful and reliable degree audit method will intuitively present details related to the specific status of the student. It enables the counselor to concentrate on issues related to career options, advanced education, and developing a bond with the student. In real-time, advisors should be able to see reports showing certain students who lack those criteria or those with academic performance issues. To help them control enrollment, enhance student performance, and make more fiscally responsible decisions, institutional leaders are searching for details.
- To address these needs, degree audit systems are ripe with knowledge, but the trick remains to make it accessible in a useful format. Most degree audit systems do not provide access to summary data on student populations with one-click. Getting answers to questions such as these would allow for a better distribution of resources and would provide individual students with targeted communication about concerns impacting their degree progression.
- The student is in the middle of every degree audit scheme. They are the ones that profit the most from the availability of important program knowledge. Although some programs have paths that can be created by the student and/or tutor, most do not have smart technology that takes into account the offering of classes. The sequencing of the prerequisite course, elective choices based on student interest, or pre-emptive messaging to warn students when their choices can delay the progression of the degree.
- The justification for a unit degree audit is to help students meet their educational objectives. Our work and the lives of students can be made easier by making the correct instruments available. A key role in your success will be the degree audit of the future with the on-demand course and student data, and responsive system prompts.

What’s the difference between a Note v. Petition?
Notes are used to alert students or advisors of an advisor meeting or class with additional information.
Notes may either be accessed by the public or only be viewed by advisors by choosing the Internal tab. The date and the last person to add or change a note are stamped on all notes. Notes on the Notes tab may be added, updated, displayed, or removed.
Petitions, located on the ‘Request Exemption’ page, permit advisors to send requests only for substitutions, waivers, and adjustments to the degree audit to the Registrar’s office. With a thorough description, you must be sure to provide all relevant details, including the course it applies to, the semester and year, and the particular action being demanded.

Difference between What if v. Look Ahead
A What-If audit helps you to see what courses a student wants to take or what needs to be taken to satisfy a particular degree’s requirements. This allows students to explore the degrees open to them and what they would expect to graduate with a degree in which they are interested.
A Look Ahead audit helps you to see what courses the student still has to take to fulfill the university and degree requirements. This audit allows students to prepare what classes should be taken to graduate with their desired degree in upcoming semesters.
To ensure that all degree requirements are fulfilled, students who will graduate in two to three semesters should request a final degree audit. To allow adequate time to register on time for any outstanding requirements, it is necessary to do this before the graduation semester.
